SEX, CHIPS AND ROCK ‘N ROLL by Debbie Horsfield (Creator of T.V.’s ‘Cutting It’ and ‘Making Out’), and Hereward Kaye, set in the Sixties and based on Debbie’s award-winning BBC TV series. The Ice Cubes are tipped as the ‘Next Big Thing’ when they hit mid-sixties Manchester and their music turns upside down the world of teenage twins Ellie and Arden. Can their lives ever be the same now that Rock ‘n’ Roll has filled their souls? Directed by Jonathan Moore with Hereward on guitar in the band, the show ran through June, July and August of last year at the Manchester Royal Exchange, having opened to excellent reviews. It was nominated Best Musical in the T.M.A. Awards 2005, with one of the cast, Coronation Street’s Tracie Bennett, winning the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. 'The hardest quality to find in musical theatre is a composer
with a UNIQUE STYLE and sound. HEREWARD KAYE has it and he certainly knows
about Sex, Chips & rock 'n' Roll' - CAMERON
